Creating Communities and Systems of Decision-Makers
Leaders cannot make meaningful and sustainable change when their focus is diverted from what matters and when sole responsibility for change falls on them alone. When leaders emerge from within systems to support the overarching goals, change is sustained and success and achievement increase.
The goal at inFOCUS is to empower individuals to become decision-makers who take increased ownership for their learning and who lead their colleagues by supporting them to do the same.
To do this, we design and implement professional learning experiences that:
- Allow for continuous and sustained growth by putting the locus of control with the learner
- Promote metacognition
- Allow for supported application of new learning
- Facilitate collaboration focused on practice and process rather than new initiatives, policies, or technology
inFOCUS believes that professional learning must support individuals in becoming critical thinkers and decision-makers who can lead in the workplace and collaborate with others to meet the increased demands placed on them today. Focused, metacognitive collaborative teams generate energy, accelerate system-wide change, and create a community where all members share accountability for success.
